Groups permissions detailed

Important: the administrator of the website can enable/disable this permission as described into Enable group permission page.

In this page we will detail every group permission that can enabled by the administrator of the website:

Note: some of the permissions listed below are related to optional modules or may be implemented with newer versions, therefore they may not be displayed.

1. General Website usage

  • view user profile pages – allow users to view the user profile pages
  • view public video pages – allow users to view the public video pages
  • view public channel pages – allow users to view the public channel pages
  • use search – allow users to use the global search feature
  • comment on user profile pages – allow users to comment on user profile pages
  • comment on public video pages – allow users to comment on public video pages
  • comment on public channel pages – allow users to comment on public channel pages
  • wordpress dashboard – allow users access to WordPress dashboard
  • add to cart – allow users ability to add items in cart
  • become affiliate – allow users to possibility to become website affiliates
  • use DVR functions – allow users the ability use DVR functions (record events on STB)

 

2. Broadcasting options

  • manage channels – allow users to manage his channels (create and edit)
  • delete own channel – allow users to delete his own channels
  • broadcast – allow users to broadcast
  • manage themes – allow users to manage channel themes (create, edit, delete)
  • assign global themes – allow users to set global themes (assign themes to global pages)
  • manage events – allow users to manage the channel events (add, edit, delete)
  • ppv for events – allow users to sell tickets to events using the PPV module (optional module)
  • channel reports – allow users to possibility to view statistics reports
  • allow channel available on Roku – allow users to change Roku settings for channel optional module)
  • html5 live stream fallback – allow users to change the status of HTML5 live stream fallback for channels (optional module)
  • enable news ticker – allow users to enable news ticker for channels (optional module)
  • map location – allow users to add their channel location on the map
  • allow channels on STB – allow users to publish their channels on STB
  • session metrics reports – allow users to view the session metrics reports of their channels
  • manage ads – allow users the possibility to have their own ads campaigns

 

3. Channel Manager (optional module)

  • manage playlists – allow users to manage the playlists (add, edit, delete)
  • assign playlists – allow users to assign/unassign playlists to channels

 

4. Videos options

  • encoding videos for Roku – allow users the possibility to encode videos fro Roku
  • upload new video – allow users to upload new videos (using Monster Uploader/Encoder)
  • manage videos – allow users to edit his own videos
  • delete own video – allow users to delete his own videos
  • crop video – allow users to crop a video and publish it as new video
  • ppv for videos – allow users to sell tickets for videos (optional module)
  • video reports – allow users to view the reports section
  • upload to youtube – allow users to upload videos to YouTube
  • HTML5 videos – allow users access to HTML5 videos (optional module)
  • closed captions – allow users to manage closed captions (optional module)
  • allow videos on STB – allows users the possibility to publish videos on STB

5. Images options

  • manage images – allow users to manage his own images (add, edit, delete)

  • blog – allow users to post to their blog section

8. Flash player – content owner

  • allow branding – allows users to brand the flash player with custom logo
  • allow ads – allows ads playback on the player (optional module)

 

9. Chat – channel owner

  • owner change message color – allow the permission to the owner to change the color of text messages
  • owner ignore – allow the owner to ignore other users
  • owner moderate – allow the owner to kick, ban, silent ban other users or to clear channel history
  • owner grant moderate – allow the owner to grant moderator permissions to other users
  • owner private message – allow the owner to send private messages other users
  • owner clear chat – allow the owner to clear chat history

 

10. Chat – members

  • change message color – allow users to change message color
  • ignore – allow users to ignore other users
  • moderate – allow users to kick, ban, silent ban other users or to clear channel history
  • grant moderate – allow users to grant moderator permissions to other users for the current channel
  • private messages – allow users to send private messages
  • clear chat – allow the owner to clear chat history
  • desktop notifications – enable desktop notifications for chat (available only in Chrome browser)

 

11. Administration

  • access admin interface – allow users to login into the administrative interface
  • admin manage users – allow users to manage users
  • admin manage channels – allow users to manage channels
  • admin manage videos – allow users to manage videos
  • admin manage site settings – allow users to manage the site settings
  • admin manage reporting – allow users to access admin reporting
  • admin manage channel subscriptions – allow users to manage Channel Subscription module (optional module). This also grants these users the ability to watch all content under paid subscription for FREE (for monitoring purposes)
  • admin receive failed suspended payments emails – allow users to received email notifications related to failed or suspended payments
  • support notifications – allow users to receive email notifications related to Support tickets
