Card code error message on Authorize

The Credit Card Verification Code, or Card Code, is a three or four digit security code that is printed on the back of credit cards in reverse italics in the card’s signature panel.

CCV compares the card code provided in a transaction with the card code on file at the credit card issuing bank. When enabled, both services return a code to the payment gateway indicating the verification results. You can configure the settings for CCV in the Merchant Interface to decline transactions based on those codes.

If a transaction made with credit card is declined and the following message is displayed, you need to re-configure the transaction rejection settings:

<<Authorization with the card issuer was successful but the transaction was declined due to a card code mismatch with the card code on the file with the card issuing bank based on the settings in the Merchant Interface.>>

To configure transaction rejection settings based on the Card Code response you need to log into your Authorize account (https://secure.authorize.net/).
